Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make EyeWish Optometry a proud provider of vision care products and services in Novato.


Both Dr. Pond and Dr. Mantua are therapeutically licensed and provide full-scope optometric exams. Dr. Mantua completed a residency in Low Vision and Hospital Based Rehabilitative Optometry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Both doctors volunteer their time with Lions in Sight and have provided eye care around the world for those who could not afford an eye exam or eyeglasses.

Meet the EyeWish Optometry Staff


Lora G. Pond, OD

Dr. Lora Pond has been practicing optometry in Novato since 1986. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with honors and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics & Food Sciences. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia and graduated in the top 2% of her class. Dr. Pond has been very active in the community through the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. She currently spends many of her days off helping out in her daughter, Noel’s, classroom and Girl Scout Troup.


Tania Mantua, OD, FAAO

Dr. Tania Mantua grew up in Bodega Bay, California, and attended Tomales High School. She went on to Santa Rosa Junior College and then transferred to the University of California, Davis, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 1985. She then attended and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry in 1990 and completed a residency at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Medical Center in Low Vision and Rehabilitative Optometry in 1991. She worked for the Livermore Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center for 4 years and then has worked at Optima Medical Associates for the last 7.5 years. At Optima, Dr. Mantua works closely with a corneal specialist who also specializes in LASIK surgery.

She is also a clinical professor at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry and has served as an advisor for thesis projects. She is a board member for the Alumni of the optometry school and was co-editor for Berkeley Optometry. She now serves on several committees including the Bay Area Optometric Council and is Director of Education for the Alameda Contra Costa County Optometric Society. She is active in volunteering her time for service trips for Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity, the Lions Club, and Help the World See and has visited far off lands like Nepal, Peru, Brazil, Ukraine and the Philippines with Lions in Sight. She has also served as a mentor for a high school student for 2 years. She has recently joined Dr. Lora Pond’s practice in Novato. Her other interests include studying Spanish and ceramics and taking her dog, Emma, on long hikes.


Matt Siu, OD

Dr. Matt Siu bought into the practice in September of 2022 and is a partner in the business. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. He then went on to earn a dual degree in Masters of Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry.

During his training at the University Eye Center Contact Lens Clinic in Manhattan, he focused on the evaluation and fitting of specialty contact lenses, including multifocal, orthokeratology (corneal reshaping therapy) gas permeable, hybrid, scleral lenses, and prosthetics in patients with various and complicated anterior segment diseases. He also served at the Ezra Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he diagnosed and treated ocular disease and binocular vision disorders in both the pediatric and adult populations. Before settling down in the Bay Area, Dr. Siu practiced in Baltimore, where he gained valuable experience working with eye care specialists from Johns Hopkins University and Wills Eye Hospital. He is committed to providing comprehensive and personalized eye care.

Dr. Siu is a member of the American Optometric Association. He is certified to treat glaucoma. He is fluent in Cantonese, and Mandarin Chinese. He enjoys cooking and traveling.
